This is an absolutely gorgeous vintage 50s iridescent taffeta party dress. It has a V neckline and a wide turnover collar, extending from the bust dart. There are 4 buttons to close down the centre front. There is a natural waist seam where a panel extends before the skirt begins. The full skirt (in 4 panels) is tea length and gathered in at a slightly dropped waist. 3/4 length sleeves. Chain stitch belt loops stitched at the waist side seams. Unlined. Best worn with a petticoat.
COLOR: Icy baby blue
MATERIAL: Iridescent taffeta
LABEL: Has been removed.
Some of the buttons and snap fasteners have some yellowing underneath. The fabric of the bottom button is slightly worn.
Discolouration on the armpits.
The collar seems as though it needs a good steaming to get it back into proper shape.
One small imperfection on the back, highlighted in the photos. A similar spot on the front of the skirt.
A mark on the left sleeve, 2" from hem.
All seams are raw.
Garment is unlined.
