Sizing Information
Every garment we list is measured thoroughly. We measure our garments laying flat and doubled where appropriate, such as at the bust, waist, and hip. The shoulder is measured seam to seam. We measure the hip 9” below the natural waist, which is usually the widest point between the waist and thigh, or at the end of a fastening as this is the part that will have to go over the hips.
The measurements we list are of the actual garment and not an indication of the sizing, as you might expect with a newly manufactured store-bought item (for example, a pair of size 28 jeans which actually measure 30" at the waist). Please examine the measurements provided in the listing carefully.
We do our best to estimate if a size will be Small, Medium, Large or XL, however these are rough estimates and most of the time the sizing can be somewhere in the middle or dependent on desired fit.
In order to make sure you're getting the best fit, we recommend measuring yourself by using a flexible measuring tape around the Bust, Waist, and Hip, and leave a little bit of room for ease. Inseam is also good to know, and for pants we suggest measuring the rise of your favourite pairs to get an idea of where pants will sit on you. It is always helpful to measure a garment you already own that’s similar in style or silhouette to compare against. Make sure it is laid out flat without any wrinkling or bunching.
If there are any further measurements that you need, or need any clarification on fit, please don’t hesitate to email us as we are happy to provide more information if necessary!
