Simplicity 2223; ©1947; Misses' and Women's Daytime and Evening Skirt with Detachable Peplum: The skirt, cut in four sections, is fitted with darts at the front and back waistline and shaped at the lower front edge. A waistband finishes the skirt. In Styles I and II, the detachable peplum joins to a waistband from which tied ends extend and form a knot at the centre front.

Fabric Suggestions: Silk, wool or rayon crepe, satin, lame, velvet, brocade, shantung, faille, bengaline, moire, matelasse, jersey, sharksking, linen, cotton broadcloth, pique, flannel, wool broadcloth, gabardine
Additional fabric is required when: Not preshrunk, matching stripes or plaids, for nap fabrics, for extra seam allowance when fabric ravels. All styles can be made with under 4 yards of material.
Notions: 2 spools of thread, hooks and eye, 7" slide fastener (zipper), or snap fasteners and hook and eye, seam binding.
