
This beauty is a vintage 40s-era cocktail frock/ party dress. It is made from dark blue silk velvet with pleats on the bodice to create a beautiful drape. It has a slit V-neckline, which closes with a hook at the front. There is a piece of black net running along the inside of the neckline. The skirt is flared with 2 panels on the front and 2 on the back. It has a belt with an oval buckle on the back waist. It is long-sleeved with ruching on the lower half and gathers at the shoulders. There are shoulder pad liners inside but no pads. There are snap fasteners and hooks at the side to close. It is unlined.

CONDITION: This beauty does come with some issues.
There is a tear in the fabric at the front neck, below the hook fastener.
there are rips on the armpit areas, which have previously been reinforced with fusible interlining pieces.
There is a rip on the right sleeve, near the seam and hem.
There is a 1" area where the left sleeve seam is undone.
The fabric is worn at the side seam below the snap fasteners.
