Gianfranco Ferré was an Italian fashion designer who began his career by designing accessories and raincoats in the early 70s. He has always been critical of fashion trends and his own label has always been more pared down than Dior. He commuted between Milan and Paris on a private plane, managing both labels. He passed away in 2007.
